How old must I be before applying for a boat or jet ski licence?You can do the course within 6 months of your 16th birthday. At the completion of the course you will be presented with the 'Statement of Competency' which has a life of 6 months. You must have turned 16 before presenting the 'Statement of Competency' to the Transport Department to get it endorsed on your driver's licence.

How long does the course take?Allow a full day for any course, depending on numbers. Courses will be capped to allow all training to be completed within daylight hours.

What do I need to bring to the course?Please bring the certificate from the online theory component, your driver's licence or some form of photo I.D.
